Science North stands out against the Sudbury skyline because of its impressive architectural features. The most popular tourist attraction in northern Ontario, the facility is one of two buildings designed to resemble a snowflake in its shape. The museum houses science-themed exhibits in both buildings connected with a tunnel underground. The interior has many photogenic displays, including a 20-metre long fin whale skeleton suspended in the central atrium. It also features a tropical butterfly gallery, planetarium and IMAX theatre. Since opening in 1984, it has welcomed over 10 million visitors to marvel at its beauty and exhibits. One of the best places to photograph the building is the Bell Park Boardwalk which makes its way to Bell Park to the north along Ramsey Lake.
