If there is one photographic landmark in London that towers above them all, literally, it is Big Ben. This iconic clock tower is part of the Palace of Westminster, and the name it is known as is actually the nickname of the large bell within it. The official name was the Clock Tower, and then this name was changed in 2012 to the Elizabeth Tower in honour of Queen Elizabeth’s Diamon Jubilee. Standing at 316 feet tall, the tower was built in the 1800s and is undoubtedly the most iconic location to photograph in London. We recommend shooting from the Thames river’s opposite bank and capturing it with the clocktower and Westminster bridge in the frame. (London, England)
