The Galveston Freight Office lovely old building that remains standing since 1904. Once a key warehouse along the local freight rail lines, the building supplied cotton. The building once had the capacity to hold and ship the entire cotton crop of Texas when it was built. The aim was to establish the island city’s role in the booming cotton trade of the time following a devastating hurricane in the year 1900. Today the building is managed and maintained by the Galveston Historical Foundation (GHF) and is on the National Park Service’s National Register of Historic Place. (Galveston, Texas, USA)
