Chapel of Thanksgiving – Arranging the stained glass windows in a spiral, they rise to 90 feet above the street level. The design suggests the infinite elevation of the human spirit. The chapel itself resembles the Great Mosque in Samarra, Iraq and the ancient spiral of life. The “Glory Window” at the apex is one of the world’s largest horizontally mounted stained-glass pieces. Gabriel Loire of Chartres, France, designed each of the 73 stained glass windows. The stained glass colours get warmer and brighter as they spiral up and in towards the centre. (Dallas, Texas, USA)
