Skylight Cave is a fantastic natural wonder to photograph. This lava flow cave has holes in the ceiling that serve as skylights allowing shafts of light to be cast inside the cave. To get into the cave, you will need to go to the location and search for the entrance. There is typically a tiny metal ladder into the cave with two directions to follow. One leads to a lengthy cave network and the other to the skylights’ main attraction. The cave is only open from May to September to protect the bat population that winters here. Arrive in the morning to capture the skylights in their full glory on sunny days. As a safety note, never explore caves alone and bring proper footwear.
