Painted Cove Trail - Photo by Dan Meyers

Painted Cove Trail is a winding boardwalk through crimson and ochre coloured hills which are created from red clay sediment. The vibrant colours of these hills, and the unreal beauty of its unique picturesque landscape are just begging to be photographed. The best time for enjoying the whole beauty of all the hues of red and gold colours of these amazing claystone mounds if late afternoon (especially after the rain), when the gentle light of the setting sun tinges the hills with unbelievable colours. Please remember to leave this area just as you found it for others to shoot and explore, especially by staying on the trail and not damaging this fragile environment by climbing the hills.
