The Astoria-Megler Bridge is a massive steel cantilever truss bridge that spans the Columbia River. It is the longest bridge of its kind in North America and connects Oregon to Washington state. The bridge is 4.067 miles (6.55 km) in length and is part of the US Route 101 that connects Washington to California. Construction of the Astoria-Megler Bridge completed in 1966. The bridge also featured prominently in the films Short Circuit, Kindergarten Cop, Free Willy and The Goonies. (Astoria, Oregon)
