Sitting on Lake Erie is the extremely photogenic Lorain Harbor Lighthouse at the end of a long breakwater. The Lorain Lighthouse was built in 1917 and has been a landmark for ships entering Lorain harbour since then. However, it no longer serves as a light beacon, as it was decommissioned in 1965. Instead, it is a lovely landmark that makes sunset photographs and pictures of ships sailing from the marina fantastic. There is no access to the lighthouse, but it is easy to photograph with a telephoto lens from the end of Mile Long Pier on the harbour’s east side. (Lorain harbour, Ohio, USA)
