Built in 1903 by George and Sarah Joslyn this stunning limestone castle was once on the outskirts of Omaha but has since been incorporated into the urban part of the city. George and Sarah lived in the home until Sarah passed away in 1940 (George died in 1916). The pair were well-known philanthropists in the local community and upon their death, the house was turned over to a non-profit to preserve the historic mansion. The Joslyn Castle is a 35-room Scottish Baronial mansion atop a hill on Omaha’s outskirts. The grounds and gardens can be explored, and daily tours are available. Visit the Joslyn Castle and Gardens website for tickets and tour info.
