Gateway Arch - Photo by Intricate Explorer
Sometimes known as the St. Louis Arch, the Gateway Arch is one of the most iconic American landmarks to photograph. The arch stands at an astounding 190 metres (630 feet) tall and is considered the tallest manufactured monument in the western hemisphere. The Gateway Arch is officially the world’s tallest arch and Missouri’s tallest accessible building. The arch was built to represent America’s expansion into the west and visitors can take a tram to an observation area at the apex of the arch. The views from here are stunning and fantastic to photograph from an impossibly high perspective. At night the Gateway Arch is often illuminated and provides a wonderful backdrop to various photogenic buildings in St. Louis. Without a doubt, the Gateway Arch is on the bucket list for any photographer visiting St. Louis. (St. Louis, Missouri, USA)
