Tishomingo State Park, named after the Chickasaw leader Chief Tishomingo, is rich in history and scenic beauty. The Pioneer Cabin, located on the banks of Bear Creek, is a must-see and fantastic subject for photographers. Constructed as part of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) efforts in the 1930s, this rustic cabin made from native stone and logs provides a sense of stepping back in time. The picturesque Bear Creek, which the cabin overlooks, also provides stunning water views, particularly in the morning and late afternoon light. A variety of hiking trails are also accessible for those looking to explore more of the park’s natural beauty. Depending on the time of year, wildflowers, fall foliage, or snow can add a distinct touch to your shots.
