Honopu Arch - Photo by Tyler Scheviak

Honopu Arch is a huge rock arch that has been slowly formed by the ocean waves and at approximately 90 feet (27 m) tall is the tallest in Hawaii. Honopu means “conch shell” in Hawaiian. It got this name because of the conch shell-like sound that the arch makes when northerly winds blow into the valley. (Nā Pali Coast State Park, Kauai, Hawaii, USA)
