Horseshoe Falls Viewpoint | Ontario Photo Spot

The Horseshoe Falls Viewpoint offers an unparalleled perspective of one of the world’s most famous waterfalls. Located near the Niagara Falls Welcome Centre, this overlook allows you to feel the sheer power and majesty of the falls as you stand close enough to feel the mist on your face. The cascading waters plummet over the edge at an astonishing rate of 600,000 gallons per second, providing a mesmerizing, ever-changing subject to photograph. Whether you’re shooting long exposures to capture the silky flow of the falls or snapping quick shots to freeze the water’s chaotic motion, the possibilities are endless. Best times to shoot are early morning and late afternoon, as the area can get quite crowded. A wide-angle lens is highly recommended, as is a sturdy tripod and weather-sealed gear due to the mist. Note that there’s a fee to enter the Welcome Centre, but the viewpoint itself is free.
