Citadel Hill Clocktower is a historic three-storey octagonal tower built on the eastern slope of Citadel Hill. The clock face has a unique feature common to clocktowers in that the number four is represented as ‘IIII’ for aesthetic purposes. The clock tower has been an iconic part of the Halifax skyline and an excellent photography location in the Maritime city.

The bell strikes hourly, and quarterly and is driven by a 13-foot pendulum housed in a cast iron frame in the building’s clock room below the belfry and located in the “clock room, immediately below the belfry. The historic clock has kept time for the Garrison on Citadel Hill since October 20th, 1803.
