This Old Fire Tower tucked away on the hilltop just east of Dunn Lake is a great place to visit from late spring into autumn. Access is by 4×4, hiking, or snowmobile (during the winter or early spring). The dirt road starts out to the north end of Dunn Lake and winds up the hillside to this old forest fire lookout at the top. The tower has a wood stove, and can be used for overnight visits. The route up goes past a couple of old gold mines that can be explored (at your own risk of course), and higher up are some great alpine meadows full of wildflowers in July and August. It is fairly high up, so the weather can change rapidly so keep an eye on the sky. (Dunn Peak Provincial Park, British Columbia, Canada)
