View of King John's Castle - Photo by Shane Dowling

This is a great location along the River Shannon to shoot the King John’s Castle and Thomond Bridge. King John’s Castle is an imposing 13th-century castle sitting on King’s Island. Although the site dates back to 922 when the Vikings lived on the Island, the castle itself was built later on the orders of King John. This shooting location is especially photogenic in the evening as the surrounding lights begin to come on. (Limerick, Ireland)
