Wast Water is a glacial lake, formed in a glacially ‘over-deepened’ valley that is the deepest lake in England at 258 feet. Tucked away in a valley in the western part of the Lake District National Park, this lake is beautifully photogenic with its rich blue water paired with a rugged mountain backdrop The lake is surrounded by the mountains – Red Pike, Kirk Fell, Great Gable and plus England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike.
