Plover Scar Lighthouse - Photo by Joe Hayhurst

Plover Scar Lighthouse is an active 19th-century lighthouse sitting just offshore at the entrance of the Lune estuary. At low tide, it is possible to walk right up to its base and shoot the lighthouse close up. Because of the flat nature of the coast, the tide can rise up very quickly so be aware if you intend to spend some time out there. The lighthouse can be reached by a short walk from Cockerham Sands caravan site, which also passes the site of the 12th century Cockersand Abbey. (Cockerham, England)
