Stockalperschloss - Photo by Nicola Pfund

Stockalperschloss (Stockalper Palace) was built between 1658 and 1678 by Kaspar Stockalper, a silk merchant of Brig and was the largest private construction in Switzerland at the time. The palace has three towers with gilded onion domes and reflects the immensity of Stockalper’s wealth. Today his fortune would be worth far more than half a billion Swiss Franks. (Brig, Switzerland)
