Once an iconic hotel in the Swiss Alps, the Hotel Belvédère is closed permanently. Once a popular destination for visitors to the region, the hotel was famously featured in the 1964 James Bond film Goldeneye. Initially constructed in 1882, the hotel and restaurant closed its doors to visitors in 2016. Once guests could look out over the massive glacier pack that filled a large portion of Furka Pass, global warming has since caused the glacier to recede dramatically. However, today the hotel is still a photogenic stopping place with nearby parking and prime photographic opportunities.
