Arboretum Simeria was established in the 18th century in a natural forest. It is the oldest woodland park in Romania and contains the most valuable and diverse plant collections in the country. Currently, there are about 2,000 species of plants, both native and exotic, in the park. The arboretum is divided into thematic sections. In the greenhouses you can see various species of palm trees, pelargoniums, coffee trees and cacti. Plane trees, cypresses, bamboos, olive trees and Canadian grapevines also grow here. It is worth going for a walk along the avenue of chestnut trees, which was founded in 1763. (Simeria, Romania)
