Art Nouveau 10b Elizabetes Street - Photo by Makalu

Art Nouveau architecture in Riga makes up roughly one-third of all buildings in the center of Riga, making the Latvian capital the city with the highest concentration of Art Nouveau architecture anywhere in the world. 10b Elizabetes Street is a stunning blue building and is one of the most recognizable examples of Art Nouveau in Riga. Designed by Mikhail Eisenstein (father of cinema genius Sergei Eisenstein), construction was completed in 1903. The building is well-known for the human faces that cap the intricate facade and is arguably one of the best examples of the famed Art Nouveau architecture district. (Riga, Latvia)
