Königsmühle Eilhausen, located in the Minden-Lübbecke mill district, is the oldest among the “stone windmills” and offers a unique subject for photographers. Featuring sails and a compass rose, the mill’s lower part was constructed from rubble stones in 1724, while the upper part, made of bricks, was added in the late 19th century. This transformation created a “Gallery Dutchman” mill from the original “Erdholländer” design. Photographers can capture the intricate details and textures of the mill’s stonework and brickwork, as well as the elegant sails and the surrounding landscape. Experiment with different perspectives, lighting conditions, and compositions to showcase the mill’s historical architecture and its fusion of styles, creating visually engaging images that tell the story of Königsmühle Eilhausen.
