The Fraternal Kiss (a.k.a. My God, Help Me to Survive This Deadly Love) mural has become a cultural touchpoint and one of the most famous pieces at the East Side Gallery in Berlin. The East Side Gallery is a series of graffiti pieces on the longest remaining portions of the Berlin wall. It depicts the scene from an iconic photograph where Leonid Breznev kisses Erich Honecker in 1979 in what is known as a socialist fraternal kiss at the 30th-anniversary celebration of the foundation of the German Democratic Republic. The photograph was taken by Regis Bossu and the mural was painted by Dmitri Vrubel on the eastern side of the wall. (Berlin, Germany, USA)
