Père Lachaise Cemetery - Photo by Kenny Orr

Père-Lachaise is the largest cemetery in Paris and the most visited cemetery in the world. Opening in 1804, the Père-Lachaise became the final resting place of several notable historical figures, including Oscar Wilde, Jim Morrison & Maria Callas. For photographers, the necropolis is a treasure trove of photographic gems for the photographer interested in spooky delights. The cemetery itself is beautiful, even if creepy isn’t your thing. As a garden cemetery, there are beautiful grounds and buildings to explore. However, please be respectful; besides being the final resting place of many Parisians, it is still an active and operational cemetery. (Paris, France)
