14,000 years ago, in the late ice age, a glacier-covered the entire valley and slowly cutting its way through the blue slate rock. The melted glacier left a deep gorge where the river now winds through slowly eroding away the cliff face and leaving behind striking smooth surfaces, whirlpools and waterfalls. You can walk along the narrow rock faces over wooden walkways and numerous bridges. The roaring white water of the Kapruner Ache is a fascinating natural spectacle that you should not miss!
