Nestled in the Nockberge Mountains of Carinthia, Falkertsee is a hidden gem for photographers who appreciate serene natural settings. The lake is encircled by verdant meadows and rugged peaks, creating an idyllic backdrop that changes dramatically with the seasons. In summer, the crystal-clear waters mirror the sky and surrounding alpine flora, offering opportunities for striking reflection shots. In winter, the snow-capped mountains provide a contrasting element to the icy lake surface. Regardless of the season, sunrise and sunset are magical times to capture the varying moods of this alpine wonderland and the beautiful chalets. Given the peaceful environment, it’s an excellent location for long-exposure photography; a tripod and a set of filters can prove to be invaluable.
