St Andrew’s Bay by Ian Parker

St Andrew’s Bay has astronomical numbers of king penguins, plus thousands of elephant seals and fur seals occupying the sands along the water. The sights, sounds, and smells of this bay will not soon be forgotten. South Georgia is remote, rugged and spectacularly picturesque. Its snow covered peaks, blue glacier ice and emerald green bays are breathtaking sights. It is a real “oasis” in the stormy southern oceans and is home to amazing wildlife like penguins, albatrosses, seals, whales and petrels. The only access to this area is by boat, the most common options being a cruise or smaller expedition tour. (South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands)
