Cape Recife Lighthouse - Photo by Suzi-k

Cape Recife Lighthouse was built in 1851 to warn passing ships of the dangers of Thunderbolt Reef, which has claimed many ships. The black and white lighthouse stands out distinctively against the rolling sand dunes that surround it. This area is especially photogenic during sunset and rough weather when the long waves seem to appear to be rolling in from all directions. (Cape Recife, Gqeberha, South Africa)
